Bertha Chapman

Mrs. Chapman died Monday, October 19, 1981 at the age pf 88 years. She was born August 4, 1893 in Germany and had been a long time Riley Township resident before moving to Armada four years ago. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Amelia (nee Plator) Klenke. She was predeceased in 1967 by her husband, Daniel. They were married in 1927.

Mrs. Chapman is survived by two sons, Shirley of Berville and Curtis of Yale, and two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Virginia) Freese of Colfax, Ca., (California) and Mrs. Eldora Kirchofer of Centerline. She is also survived by two brothers, Fred Klanke of Troy and Richard Klanke of Harrison and a sister, Mrs. Rev. William (Ida) Carter of Richland, Mo. (Missouri) She has 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Chapman will rest at the TIFFANY-YOUNG and HAUSS Funeral Home, 73919 S. Fulton, Armada until Wednesday at 9 p.m. She will lie in state at the Assembly of God, 22755 Barrows Street, Armada Thursday, October 22, 1981 from 11 a.m. until time of the service 12 noon. The Rev. David Fisher, will officate.

Burial will follow in East Berlin Cemetery, Berlin Township, Mi.
