Donald C. Pernia

Private services were held Monday afternoon in Detroit for Donald Chester Pernia, 2-day-old son of Technical Sergeant and Mrs. Donald Pernia, who died at Providence Hospital in Detroit Sunday morning. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery at Ida.

Sergeant Pernia, who lived at LaSalle prior to his enlistment three years ago, flew to Detroit from Fort Benning, Georgia, on 24-hour leave. He left Detroit on the return trip Saturday afternoon. Sergeant and Mrs. Pernia had been living at Dayton, Ohio, where he was stationed until two months ago. Mrs. Pernia is now making her home with a sister in Detroit. (Should read sister-in-law).
