ELI D. MORRIN, 59, DIES AT OLDPORT _ Retired Farmer Had Lived in Berlin Many Years; Born in Toledo _ (1933) While getting ready to attend church services, Eli D. Morrin, aged 65 years a retired farmer, and one of the best known residents of Berlin, was stricken with a heart attack, at 9:30 Sunday morning and died about two hours later in his home on the Dixie highway at Oldport, Mr. Morrin had lived in Oldport 28 years.
He was born in Toledo, July 1864, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Morrin. When a child he moved to Erie with his parents where he resided for a number of years. From Erie he moved to Berlin township where he operated a large farm for a number of years.
He married to Miss Mary Leonard of Newport in 1886. She died May 13, 1902, and in 1905 he married Mary Bondy of Newport, who died April 28. 1932.
He is survived by four sons, Frank Morrin of Monroe, Roy Morrin of Rockwood, Charles Morrin in the United States Army at Oakland, California, and William Morrin of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Poupard of Monroe, and Miss Agnes Morrin who lived with her father. He also leaves two brothers, Leonard Morrin of Erie and Raga Morrin of Toledo; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Patee and Mrs. Rapheal Leonard of Toledo and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
He is the cousin of the Rev. Fr. Tobias Morrin of Ecorse.
