Ira E. Kerr

TEMPERANCE - Ira E. Kerr, 82, of 8424 Lewis Ave., who retired as a stockman in 1961 from Consolidated Packaging Corp. after being employed there since 1942, died about 8 a.m. today in Beach Nursing Home, Monroe.

He had been in poor health for six months and seriously ill for a month. He entered the nursing home Jan 9.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Allore Funeral Home, where services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev Donald Daws at Zion United Methodist Church, LaSalle, will officiate and burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, LaSalle.

The son of John and Mary (Woods) Kerr, he was born Dec. 3, 1896, in Kenton, Ohio. He was married to Irene Leonard in 1932, who preceded him in death in 1964. He married Mable Maguire in 1966, and she died in 1974.

He is survived by four brothers, Elmer of LaSalle, Harry of Elizabeth, W. Va., Carl of Ravenna, Ohio, and Arthur of Colorado, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wifes, he was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
