EDGAR B. FREET
Edgar B. Freet, 79, of the Meadowbrook Estates movile home park, died Friday at the Frenchtown Convalescent Center, where he had been for 17 months.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Allore Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Chalaba of St. Mary Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Born Dec. 9, 1909, in St. Joseph County, Ind., Mr. Freet was the son of Fred and Bertha (Gowman) Freet.
He worked for 18 years as a tool and die maker at the Monroe Stamping Plant of the Ford Motor Co., retiring in 1974.
Surviving are his wife, 4 stepsons. Robert Poupard, Donald Poupard, William Pourpard and James Poupard, all of Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (JoAnn) LaDuke of Monroe; a brother Earl Freet of Florida; 2 half brothers, William DeClark of Tennessee and Arthur Freet of Pennsylvania; 4 half-sisters, Mrs. Mack (Helen) Cassidy, Mrs. Grace Murray, Mrs. Ruth Kreider, all of Warren, Ohio. and Mrs. Geraldine Kerentoff of Riga; 15 step-grandchildren and 18 step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Burton Freet.
Memorial may be made to ta charity of the donor's choice.
