    Obituary of William Beacom

    After a short illness with bronchitis William, the beloved husband of Mary Beacom, died at his home three miles south and one half mile west of Marlette at 4 a.m. Friday morning, November 5, 1915. Deceased was born May 22, 1843 and came to Michigan from Scotland in 1860 and bought the farm where he died in 1873. In 1881 he was married to Mary Chapman. To this union were born two sons, Willie and Willis, who with mother survive, also three grandchildren. Deceased was esteemed for his spendid Christiam character and loved by all. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Scotland before coming to Michigan. After coming to Marlette he joined the Methodist Episcopal Church, from which the funeral was held Sunday at 2 p.m. Rev. W. J. Cain officiating. He remailed faithful member of this church till his death. The funeral was attended by a large concourse of friends who assembled to pay a last tribute of respect to a devoted husband and loving father and highly respected and much loved neighbor. Internment was made in the Marlettte Cemetery. Relatives from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Wm Chapman, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gottschalk, Mr. and Mrs. James Chapman and daughter all of Richmond; John Chapman and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey McGregor, all of Shabbona; Mr. and Mrs Jim Chapman and son of Memphis; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Chapman and two sons and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Chapman and Mrs. Ralph Hill and two children of St. Clair; Harry Kaimage of Riley; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chapman of Capac and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beacom of Detroit.
