WILLIS BEACOM

Willis Beacom, 85, a resident of the Marlette area for the first 77 years of his life, passed away November 24, at the Fairlane Nursing Home in Detroit, after a long illness. Mr. Beacom was born on February 4, 1889 in Marlette Township. He attended the Montgomery School.

On February 24, 1922, Mr. Beacom married Mary Chapman in Kentucky. The couple lived on a Marlette farm until Mrs. Beacom succumbed in 1967.

Surviving Mr. Beacom are a daughter Mrs. Lucy Janek, of Detroit; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Rev. John Larkin officiated at the services, which took place at the Marsh Funeral Home. Interment was at Marlette Cemetery.

(It is suspected that an error was made when this was printed in the paper. Mrs. Beacom's maiden name was Stowers, not Chapman. We think the parents names were omitted as Mr. Beacom's mother was Mary Chapman.)
