MILDRED MAE CHAPMAN April 23, 1989
Mildred Mae Chapman, 83 passed away at the St. Joseph's Hospital, Clinton Township, Sunday, April 23, 1989.
She was born on July 9, 1905 in Greenwood Township, St. Clair County, Michigan to Edward and Myrtle Gardner Fueslein. Mildred was united in marriage with Elmer J. Chapman, the local teacher in 1928. Last August 23rd the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Chapman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Port Huron during her twenty- four years there and served as President of the Ladies Association. She later moved to Kalkaska County and became a member ot the First Presbyterian Church of Traverse City. In 1986 Mrs. Chapman moved to Presbyterian Village, East in New Baltimore and became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Clemens.
Mrs. Chapman was a "true" homemaker. The main interests in her life were her home, family, church, flower garden, and her art in the form of oil painting and crocheting. She loved nature, birds and the out-of-doors.
Surviving are her husband, Elmer; three nieces, Marion Eggert of Fraser, Mrs. Vincent (Evelyn) Hill of Warren and Mrs. James (Edith) Robb of Clinton Township; three cousins, Rhoda Sharp of Battle Creek, Raymond Fueslein of Detroit and Agnes Ford of Fort Myers, Florida. Also surving are a many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews and a host of friends wherever Mrs. Chapman lived. Mrs. Chapman was predeceased by her parents and three sisters, Mrs. Wallace (Agnes) Eggert, Mrs. Stanley (Edna) Crooker and Mrs. John (Beatrice) Dodd.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. , Wednesday, April 26, 1989 at the Will and Schwarzkoft Funeral Home, 233 North Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens with the Reverand Dr. Robert W. Battles, Jr. , Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Clemens officiating, Internment will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, two miles south of Fargo, Michigan at 1:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions be made to the Presbyterian Village East, New Baltimore or the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Clemens.
