    DEATHS

    Donald C. Poupard
    Feb. 5, 1931 - Feb. 28, 1999

    Donald C. Poupard, 68, of Monroe died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday in his home. He had been in poor health for six years and seriously ill for a month.

    Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. The Rev. Anthony Sulkowski, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, under the auspices of Monroe Post 1138, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Rupp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

    Born Feb. 5, 1931, in Monroe, he was the son of George and Ethel (Pernia) Poupard. He married Donna J. Pebbles Sept. 22, 1952, in San Francisco, Calif.

    He was petty officer 1st class in the Navy, serving from March, 1948, until March, 1968. He served during the Korean War and two tours of duty in Vietnam. He also served in the Naval Reserves for 10 years. After retiring he worked for Mobile Oil Co., Trenton, and the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

    He attended St. Mary Grade School and attended high school at Boystown, Boystown, Neb.

    Surviving are his wife; two sons, Donald C. of Kalama, Wash. and Ronald C. of Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. William (Debra) Hinkley of Ida and Diane Poupard and Mrs. Christopher (Denise) Zabawa, both of Monroe; three brothers, William and James, both of Monroe, and Raymond Timmons of Beaverton; and a sister Mrs. Joseph (Joann) LaDuke of Monroe, and eight grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Edgar Freet; a brother, Robert, and a grand daughter.

    Memorial may be made to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
