GEORGE L. POUPARD George L. Poupard, 62, died of cancer at 12:40 a.m. today in Veterans Hospital, Ann Arbor. He had been ill for two years and in a serious condition two weeks. He had made his home with his son, James Poupard of 720 N. Telegraph Rd.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in the Allore Funeral Home and at 9:30 in St. Michael's Catholic Church of which he was a member. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home, after 4 p.m. tomorrow. The rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday.
The son of Frank F. and Susan Poupard, he was born Oct. 10, 1905, in Monroe and had lived here all his life. He was a World War II Veteran, serving from Dec. 28, 1942, to Dec. 4, 1943. and a member of Monroe Post 1138, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by 5 sons, Robert, Donald, William and James all of Monroe, and Raymond Poupard of Detroit; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Joann) LaDuke of Monroe; 2 sisters, Mrs. Elmer Salow of Monroe and Mrs. Lawrence Mieden of Belleville, Mich.; 19 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
