OBITUARY
R.G. (Bob) Poupard
G.R. (Bob) Poupard owned the Monroe Dinner for more than 20 years, died at 8:55 p.m. Saturday at his Monroe home after a long illness. He was 64.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Rupp Funeral Home.
The restaurant, which he has operated sicne 1971, will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday due to his death.

Monroe Dinner Owner dies after illness
Services have been set for G.R. (Bob) Poupard, 64, owner and operator of the Monroe Dinner since 1971, who died at 7:55 p.m. Saturday in his home. He had been in poor health for 13 months and serious health for the past six months.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Rupp Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Seal Janeway, retired pastor of the Tecumseh Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Born Jan. 6, 1929, in LaSalle, he was the son of George and Ethel (Pernia) Poupard. He was marred Dec. 18 1954. to Louise Asher in Monroe.
Prior to opening the Monroe Dinner, Mr. Poupard had been employed by Time Container for 26 years.
An Army vetern, he served from February, 1946, to December, 1946, and again during the Korean War from February 1951, to December, 1952.
He was baptised and confirmed at St. Mary Catholic Church and also attended its school.
Surviving are his wife: his mother, Ethel Freet of Monroe; a son, Jack W. of LaSalle; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Janice G.) Copi of Carleton; four brothers, Donald, William and James Poupard, all of Monroe, and Raymond Timmons of Beaverton; a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Joann) LaDuke of Monroe; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1968; and his stepfather, Edgar Freet who died Nov. 10, 1989.
Memorial may be made to the Hospice of Monroe or St.
