    Louise Poupard, age 79, of Monroe, died 5:18 a.m. Tuesday in her home. She had been seriously ill for three months. Friends may call from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Friday in the Rupp Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Roy Southerland, pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, LaSalle. Born Feb. 2, 1930 in Leslie, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Joe and Ethel (Saylor) Asher. Louise came to Monroe in 1950 and married Robert Poupard on December 18, 1954. For 18 years, Louise managed the former Al's Diner restaurant in Monroe. On January 1, 1971 Louise and Bob bought the Monroe Dinner. Together they co-owned and operated the restaurant until he died November 13, 1993. Afterward, Louise and her family continued to operate the restaurant until February 2004. Family was her #1 priority. her doors were always open for a family gathering. Louise is survived by two children, Jack (Debbie) Poupard of LaSalle and Janice (Bob) Copi of Monroe; two brothers, Frank (Mary Ann) Asher of Orchard Lake and Joe Neal (Barbara) Asher of Monroe; two sisters, Ruby (Uyless) Fisher of Baxter, Kentucky and Willine "Wink" Below of LaSalle; five grandchildren, Tammy Maus, Scott (Sara) Poupard, Robert Copi, Susan Copi, and Heather (Justin) Brescol; and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Bob, Louise is preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Doran Harris. Memorial contuibutions in her memory may be made to Hospice of N. W. Ohio or Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
