Evelyn Gutierrez
IDA - Mrs. Robert (Evelyn H.) "Toots" Gutierrez, 51, of Ida, owner and operator of Tony's Country Store in Lambertville since 1989, died Sunday in her home. She had been seriously ill for two years.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Capaul Funeral Home, where a scripture service will be at 8 Tuesday night. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. John LaCasse of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Born Feb. 6, 1941, in Detroit, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Violet (Scott) Sawyer. She and her husband were married April 7, 1960, in Dearborn Heights.
Mrs. Gutierrez also operated a 7 - 11 Convenience Store in Ann Arbor at one time.
She was a member of of the Bedford Business Bureau and the Better Business Bureau.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents of Spruce, a son, Robert Jr. of Carleton; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Wendy) Rozanski of Lambertville and Mrs. Ricky (Chhristine ) Soot [Foor] of Monroe, two brothers, Gerald Sawyer of Fremont, Calif., and Thomas Sawyer of Howell; two sisters, Mrs. Allen (Connie) Martin and Judy Sawyer, both of Westland, and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Monroe.
