Robert G. Gutierrez, Sr.
March 7, 1939 - Oct., 6, 2002

Robert G. Gutierrez Sr., 63, of Monroe died Sunday morning at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center; Toledo.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, and from 9 a.m. Wednesday until services at 11 at the funeral home. The Rev. John LaCasse, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ida, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

Born March 7, 1939, in Detroit, he was the son of Robert R. and Gertrude (Schoming) Gutierrez. He marreid Evelyn Sawyer April 7, 1960, in Dearborn Heights. She died Jan. 24, 1993.

He served in the Air Force from 1957 to 1962.

He worked at AM General of Southfield, retiring in 1996 as international sales director. He had been with the company for 27 years. He also owned and operated a party store from 1988 to 1996. Recently, he had worked at the NAPA store in Monroe.

Surviving are his father of Ocala, Fla.; a son, Robert Jr. of Monroe; two daughters, Wendy (Richard) Ronzanski of Lambertville and Christine (Ricky) Foor of Monroe; a brother Rick (Diane) of Fenton; a sister; Linda Pelligrini of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and mother.
