Elsie May Segur

Our loving wonderful mother has died. Elsie May Segur of Lambertville, Michigan left this earth on September 19, 2007 after a 7 year battle with Alzheimers. Elsie was born in Findley, OH on June 23, 1918. She graduated from Whitmer High School and grew up in Wernerts Corners. Elsie was the eldest of of 6 and the daughter of Scott and Anna (Harrrington) Walters. Elsie wed Clarence Thompson, who died just 3 years later. She married Leonard Segur in 1944. They celebrated 56 years of marriage until Leonard passed away in 2000. Elsie was employed at Dura Corp., during the war, was a homemaker and devoted, caring mother to her 5 children. She loved to read novels, was active in many women's groups, loved her homes on Posey Lake and in Florida, but most of all her family. Elsie is survived by her children David (Suzanne) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Debra (Charles) Gallagher of Canyon Lake, TX Douglas of Toledo OH and Brenda Stalder of Erie. She leaves 16 loving special grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. brother Robert (Peggy) Walters of Toledo, OH and many neices and nephews. Elsie was preceded in death by her son Dennis (Mary); her sisters Marilyn Elson, Donna James, Helen Horton and brother William Walters. Friends may join the family at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH on Monday, September 24 from 11:00 A.M. until 2:30 P.M. when the service will begin. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
