89th Birthday Noted By Mrs. Chapman at Memphis Home
Memphis, March 18- The eighty-ninth birthday of Mrs. James Chapman was observed quietly in her home Tuesday. Friends and relatives remembered her with cards.
Mrs. Chapman, the former Miss Annie McNichol, was born in Ontario, March 17, 1864. After her marriage to James Chapman they came to Michigan 67 years ago. Mr. Chapman died in 1947.
Mrs, Chapman still does all her own house work and looks forward each year to caring for a small garden.
She has a daughter and five sons, Mrs. James Williams, Wixon; Richard and Malcom, Detroit; Arthur, Monroe; Ralph and Kenneth, Memphis; Elmer, Port Huron. There are 41 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Annie was a resident of the Alice Kay Nursing Home in Mount Clemens, MI when she died.
She had been there for 3 months.

Mrs. James Chapman (1956)
Memphis - Mrs. Annie Chapman, 92, widow of James Chapman and and a resident of Memphis died today in Alice-Kay Nursing Home near Mount Clemens.
She was born March 17, 1864, in Ethel, Ont., and was married there to Mr. Chapman, March 7, 1883. In 1884 the couple moved to near Memphis and in 1926 moved into the city to live, at 3053 Cole street.
Mr. Chapman died March 6, 1947.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Morgan Williams, Wixon, Mich.; six sons, Richard, St. Helen; Malcom, Detroit; Arthur, Monroe; Ralph and Kenneth, both of Memphis, and Elmer, Port Huron; 18 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Remains are in Barnard- Conner funeral home. Arrangements are pending.
