Ida - Services have been set for Dorothy A, (Pernia) Zimmerman, 85, of Ida who died at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday at the Lutheran Home. She had been in ill health since January.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rupp Funeral Home. The Ladies Auxiliary of Lynn C. Weeman Post 514 American Legion, Temperance, will hold a service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the post, were a prayer service will follow at 8. She will lie in state at from 10 a.m. Monday until services at 11 a.m. Monday until services at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ida. the Rev. John LaCasse, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Born Oct. 13, 1919, in Monroe, she was the daughter of Arthur and Grace (White) Chapman. She married Raymond D. Pernia April 20, 1939. He died May 13, 1976. She then married Lawrence J. Zimmerman Aug. 26, 1982.
She was empolyed by Monroe County Intermediate School District retiring in 1981.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers of the church, where she also taught religion classes. She was a member of Lynn C. Weeman Post 514, American Legion Auxiliary, and a life member of Navy mothers and AFL-CIO Local 547.
She crocheted lap robes for the Veterans Hospital and played on the Greenhorn Bowling League at Monroe Sport Center.
Surviving are her husband, Lawrence of Ida; four sons, Thomas A. (Joyce) Pernia of Bath, Maine, Alan J. Pernia of Monroe, Timothy R. Pernia of Texas and Gilbert J. (Donna) Pernia of Cameran, Texas; two daughters Lois Ann (John ) Vidolich of Ypsilanti and Linda M. Pernia of Paris, Tenn.; three stepsons, Lawrence (Nadia) Zimmerman of Illinois, Donald (Debie) Zimmerman of Ida and Robert (Betty) Zimmerman of Petersburg; three stepdaughters, Mary Ann (Gary) Davis of Flat Rock, Susan (Chester) STocki of Arlington, VA and Jane (Dennis) Meyer of Carleton; two brothers, Arthur E. (Betty) of Monroe and Herbert J. (Marlene) of Adriana; nine grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a step grandchild.
In additon to her first husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Alyce E; a sister Shirley G. Wylie; five grandchildren and great grandson.

The Ladies Auxilary of Lynn C. Weeman Post 514, American Legion, Temperance, will hold a service for Dorothy A. Zimmerman at 7 p.m. Sunday at Rupp Funeral Home. The location was incorrect in her obituary Friday. Among her survivors is a son, Alan J. (Paula) Pernia of Monroe. His wife's name was omitted in the Friday obituary.
